Why Sloped, Gated and Wooded Drives Change the Fix
On a sloped drive the slab under the door may not be level. An opener set up for a flat floor can stop short of the ground or reverse early. We set the down limit where the door really lands, then retest the reverse with a board.
A garage that stands apart from the house may run on its own outlet or breaker, so a dead opener can be a tripped breaker and not a failed motor. When nothing responds, we check the power, the wall button and the remote before we blame the opener.
Where trees overhang the drive, leaves, needles and twigs pack the floor edge and the lower track. A heavy limb can also knock a track out of line. We look for both.
